About 2000friends
This website works in tandem with a forum, the website provides news and some basic information, while the forum answers questions, has lots of guides written with NAIDC computers (which are the same as the ones distributed by the Scottish Executive around Scotland) and provides a place for community members to chat about, well, anything really.
The forum was hacked recently, along with thousands of other and lost all it's data. A lot has since been restored, thanks in part to the efforts of it's members and of course, you can still post questions!
Whatever your level of computer skills you will find something to interest you at the forum, ask question, find tips and more or click on the bold text below to jump straight some of the currently popular sections.
To post a message on the forum you need to register (anyone can read it), click this button to do so.
If you can't be bothered with all this and just want some friendly advice click the ASK button and send me an email!
Click Here if you have a general enquiry about the website.
The 2000friends website works like this: The front page stays more or less the same so that newcomers have simple instructions for finding their way around. Updates are posted at the top of the relevent pages, so if you visit regularly you don't have to do any scrolling.
The links to other pages mostly work the same way, internal ones open in the window you are using now, links to other websites and to the forum open in new ones.
The Forum updates all the time. If you post a question during the day you might have to wait until evening to get a response because people are out at work but you will get an answer of some sort the day you post.
All the cartoons and text is original and copyright. Unless stated they can only be reproduced by agreement.
Why not add this page to your favorites? Next time you visit, instead of typing the name into the address bar you just click on "favorites" and then on our name. To do this left click on the word "favorites", then on the drop down list that appears click on "add to favorites" and then click on "OK". You can do this for any site you think you'll use a lot.
I'm trying to keep all this site as simple as possible and so there are no adverts doing fancy things or selling you stuff that you might find offensive, no clever graphics slowing your connection and no third party cookies snooping on you. If you think there's anything I could do to improve it let me know by posting in the forum or emailing me.
